Yeah, but how are we REALLY going to pay for it?

The president insists that, in spite of the cost (under)estimated by the CBO, his health care reform package will not increase the national debt. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi chimed in as well:

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi told reporters that half the bill "will be paid for by squeezing excesses out of the system" by finding $500 billion in reduced waste, fraud, abuse and redundancy.

Tell me, can anyone cite any significant example of the government reducing waste, fraud, abuse and redundancy? $500 billion worth? Ever? Yet this is what the Democrats are counting on to pay for their health care program. Excuse me if I'm not impressed.
